TET with Friends – What’s Behind It?
Hardly any track in Europe has become as popular as the Trans Euro Trail® (TET). Divided into multiple countries and sections, individual parts of the TET can be turned into real offroad adventures. Today, most riders tackle the TET on big adventure bikes, even though it was originally intended for lighter trail bikes.
The official TET definition states:
"The Trans Euro Trail® is aimed at small and medium capacity trail bikes (...) Yamaha WR250R, XT600 etc. (...) Larger bikes can tackle it but riders need to be more experienced and competent."
So what does that mean for us?
Can we ride the TET with large adventure bikes?
The answer is yes — absolutely.
However, the TET website does not provide difficulty ratings, warnings, or technical details. You only find vague clues in forums or YouTube videos.
This is exactly where HighEnduroTours comes in. We allow you to experience your Offroad Motorcycle Tour Spain without accidentally riding into sections that are far too difficult for your skill level.
All sections offered on this tour have been scouted and graded by us. Our guides will assess you during the ride and choose TET segments that challenge you — but do not overwhelm you.
Because let’s be honest:
Who wants to get stuck alone on a narrow single trail with half-meter rock steps and no one around to help? Exactly. Nobody.
We are also fully prepared for any situation. A small mechanical issue or a flat tire is no obstacle on this Offroad Adventure Bike Tour.
Day 1 – Arrival: How Do I Get to Spain?
Our meeting point is located near Barcelona, making arrival easy and flexible:
-
Ride your own adventure bike all the way.
-
Come by car or van with trailer.
-
Fly to Barcelona or drive there and use one of our rental motorcycles,
or book our bike transport service.
Travel light
This tour is a moving tour, meaning we carry our luggage with us the entire week.
Soft panniers are ideal.

Day 2 (Ride Day 1)
We ride the shown route counterclockwise, starting in the southeastern corner and beginning directly with Section 18 heading north.
This section is ideal for warming up: wide, flowing gravel roads originally built as service roads for wind parks. Perfect terrain to get comfortable on the adventure bike again.
After lunchtime, the landscape becomes more mountainous, and our first hotel is already located at around 1,000 meters altitude.

Day 3 (Ride Day 2)
We are now right at the foot of the Pyrenees.
The terrain becomes steeper in the morning as we climb a beautiful road pass and continue into the Central Pyrenees, joining Section 17, which crosses the mountains from east to west.
After several rocky offroad passages, we reach the valley of the El Segre river.

Day 4 (Ride Day 3)
A major highlight of the tour: the Pic Negre.
The 2,644-meter "Black Giant" rises in the northern Pyrenees directly at the border with Andorra. The combination of black volcanic stone and grey alpine grass creates a landscape that looks like the Icelandic Highlands — completely unique in Central Europe.
The route to the Pic Negre is not easy, but with time, teamwork, and good guiding, we master it as a group.

Day 5 (Ride Day 4)
Today’s program: TET Andorra.
We pass directly through the city of Andorra, then climb a scenic mountain pass through a ski area. At the northwestern border of Andorra, the asphalt ends and an old smuggler route winds through a breathtaking valley heading west.
At a rustic little café at the foot of the trail, we pause for a short break.

Day 6 (Ride Day 5)
We now head clearly south.
The landscape becomes flatter; rocky terrain transforms into deciduous forests, farmland, and open plains.
Riding east around Lleida, we follow Section 16 of the TET Spain.
This section allows us to cover distance quickly on well-rideable gravel and dirt tracks.

Day 7 (Ride Day 6)
On the final riding day, we tackle part of Section 19, the most demanding portion of the TET in this region.
Certain extremely technical segments, fun only for lightweight sport enduros, will be bypassed. Unless the group requests challenges. In that case, we may selectively include several tricky obstacles or rock steps.
For those who want more: there's always more available today.

Day 8 – Departure
After six full riding days, we look back on an unforgettable week.
Nearly 1,000 km ridden, many of them offroad — and above all: endless fun with like-minded riders.
If this sounds exciting, we’d love to welcome you on the next TET with Friends – Pyrenees tour.
